Today's bedroom design envisions the blending of two styles.  It has a more down to earth vibe with the natural weave bed and two tone striped basket, clean lines, and contrast.

To finish out the room, I'd add in more navy elements to compliment the nautical striped x-benches and balance out the neutral colors. I'd also top the bed with a quality linen duvet set and place a neutral slipcovered chair in the room. The chunky cotton and wool rug in particular is a BEAUTIFUL natural rug that will work in almost any room and design.

Affordable Guest Bedroom Retreat

Hello friends! While it can be fun to dream and splurge on gorgeous interior decor, I love a good challenge of putting together a beautiful room for less. Whether it's for a personal budget, guest room, or vacation rental, we need to pinch some pennies to make it happen.  

When we first put our beach house on VRBO, we had a $20,000 budget for all of the renovation, furnishings, and to outfit the entire home (mattresses, utensils, cooking items, towels, etc.) so I understand it can take some creativity, thrifting, and DIY at times!  ;-)

Today's edesign is a more affordable option with a guest retreat in mind. Not all elements are necessary, but when pulled all together, this bedroom would make a guest feel right at home and comfortable.

I'd love to know in the comments what YOUR favorite items is!  I think for me it has to be that comfy accent chair and boat artwork!

Mix and Match Coastal Boy's Bedroom Design Ideas

Hi friends! Thanks for the love on my last post!  I know first hand how much time it can take to find all the home decor options out there, so I'm glad to hear these are saving you a ton of time! :-)

Today's design is all about a fun, coastal boy's bedroom. We currently have an eight year old son and whether I'm brainstorming designs for boys or girls I ALWAYS like to ask my kid's opinions. These are potentially their bedroom, and I'm sometimes surprised at their likes and dislikes, so it's quite helpful. Ha!

As for my son, he says he'd prefer this Star Wars flannel sheet set, and really, who am I to blame him? That's every Star Wars lovers dream right? #nopunintended ;-) Lol

Also, as much fun as it is to add trendy pieces to a room, I love incorporating pieces that will last a lifetime too, like this rustic (and very cool looking) storage trunk.  Throughout the years, it would also be well used as a coffee table.
